Happy belated birthday.

CMOT Weasel has his birthday today. I haven't heard from him in ages.

There can be only one...

Edit to add: Yes, that's from Highlander.
Queen released a new album today.

Mark

Ooh, didn't know that. I'll have to take a look. Thanks, Mark! :D

We just had a 2 minute silence at work. I'm sure we didn't do this last year. In fact, looking back, I was still seeing a patient at the time.

We do it in our office every year

Yep, standard practice here too.

Here too. Incidentally I was in a meeting with a German lady today during the 2 minutes of silence.

A lesser-spotted leeds_manc grammar query:

Have you always wore glasses?

Have you always worn glasses?

Which one is correct? :| I should be able to work this out, I think I'm tired.

Latter I'd say. You're asking a question in the past tense so it should be 'worn'.

Have you always worn glasses?
Do you you always wear glasses?

The only time I think 'wore' works is when you're asking in the negative about the past 'I thought you never wore glasses?' Any other time, it doesn't sound right.

The funeral of a good friend is being held next Wednesday, I've known him and worked with him for the past nearly 4 years, he took his own life last Tuesday with no indication that there was anything wrong, his fiance and family are devastated but it doesn't feel real.

Have you always worn glasses?

wear - present tense - "I always wear glasses"
worn - perfect tense - "I have always worn glasses"
wore - imperfect tense - "I always wore glasses"

Whether to but a Ruroc helmet that comes with goggle (as the helmet is excellent), or to buy the Dragon NXF goggles I really like and buy a different helmet to go with it.
The total cost would be similar regardless.

I need something for the slopes at any rate.
