I live near loads of nice picturesque little beaches. I suspect people don't want to travel enough to se me, though. *sniff* (8+(

I hit the beach last Sunday for a bbq with 10 mates. Will be doing the same this Sunday. Have a birthday do on D-Day and may be in London the following week, although I'm not sure. So for me 20th is probably earliest, but I'll keep an eye on the thread and my schedule.

As for a place to stay, I'll see if I can't do some research on that front......

It sorta depends on when you had in mind. Misters birthday weekend is out, and the 13/14th but if you're looking at the 20/21st then it's a definite maybe

Primary requirements:

1. Rock pools with crabs and shrimp and other crustacean life forms
2. Caves
3. Sand and pebbles and shells and things
4. Ice cream

Not so good:

1. Sewage
2. Condoms, broken glass, oil slicks
3. Dead sheep
4. Man eating sharks or toxic jellyfish

Anyone fancy a paddle?

Eastbourne meets all of these requirements, but not sure you'd want to come that far south (I'm in the midlands myself currently and miss the sea air  )

Eastbourne is about a 10 minute drive from me Stu. I'm in Hastings. Let me know when you're next in the area. :)

Heh, My Grandmother lives in Brede, I'm down that way a couple of times a year and enjoyed a childhood full of hot summers days on Camber Sands :D

Thats brilliant :) Small world eh. Went to Camber last weekend for a BBQ, but as soon as we arrived it clouded over, so didn't bother in the end.

Huh? We're busy then as well? :?

Otherwise, yeah I'm up for this. I think I'll have to buy a new bucket and spade though. :D

In my teen years you used to be able to camp on the beach so we'd quite often dig ourselves sleeping troughs in the sand up by the dunes and line them with sleeping bags before lighting a fire and then playing stupid games in which someone invariably ended up having to jump in the water.... Ahh, those were the days

I was trying to be considerate  I figured after no weekends off in almost a month leading up to your bathday you'd probably like to have one at home with nothing much planned. If you want to go to the beach then I'm all up for that!!

Ah, I see. I just figured there was something else we'd arranged that I'd forgotten about!

Either weekend is good really, although a free weekend sometime would be nice!

Jeez, I don't know, you want to have a fantastic birthday weekend, and family dinners in the weekends leading up to it, a trip to the Seaside and a weekend off!!?!?!?!

Demanding much? :D

Well, JJ, there you have it, from the Horses Mouth (as it were) either of those weekends is good for us :)
