I've now gotten in to the habit of keeping boxes for anything IT related. I always keep upgrading and get more selling the goods in their original boxes.

I have a secure lockup where I keep things.
Currently about 30% full of old boxes.

Same here, where ever you go in my house there will be a box somewhere, 2 iPhone boxes on the bookshelf, 22" monitor box in the wardrobe.... always keep the box easier to sell on.

I'm keeping the iPhone box. It has the device serial number on it.

We had to send a faulty one back at work and o2 wanted the original box as it had the serial number and IMEI on the bottom.

There is also a barcode on the bottom of the box that o2 needed to scan the device back in to stock. Or something along those lines.

Ah, but applecare doesn't cover loss.

apple have to repair it within the first 12 months anyway as manufacturer.

I used to stick mine all over the lid of my lunchbox, it used to drive my mum mad, but then she started just leaving them there, the Cox's ones were my favourite, by the end of the year she would just throw away my lunchbox and buy me a new one for the next year :D
