Just realised a great benefit, I'll be able to wirelessly listen to my entire iTunes collection through my stereo without having to turn the noisy PS3 on or missing out on the songs that don't fit on the iPod.

Stick another Gig of memory in it, it will only cost you less than £20 and it makes loads of diffence on those little Netbooks.

+1, I used this, and this is the cheapest I could find it:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-Techno ... 906&sr=1-1

It's Amazon Marketplace, but it's actually coming from the ever reliable 7dayshop :D

Check the netbook out under Crucial's memory checker or using CPUZ or something to make sure it's the right thing, but these netbooks are all much of a muchness :)

There's even a guide to doing it in one of the threads if you're unsure or anything. Though If I can fit it you certainly can ;)

Cheers guys. Will do. Also just organised sending back the one I got and ordered the Samsung instead. The other one looked a bit cheap and, as it's a present, I want it to be as nice as possible. If anyone's interested, PC world are doing refurbs of the NC10 for £219.

Nice one Tom, your be chuffed as nuts with the NC10, and so will your wife.

This is the review that got me buying - Clicky

Forgot to say last night, I suddenly remembered that most notebooks only have one Dimm slot so your need to order a 2GB stick which are a little more than £20 now, when I brought mine it was £22 but now they are going for around £35 - (exact memory I have in my NC10) Clicky, sorry dude for the duff info.

Edit - Mind you I did pay £315 for the Notebook.....

That's a pain, my cheap-ass Advent (MSI Wind by another name) had two :(

It's also worth remembering that 2Gb is the max, which is a bit crap

Why? The sort of tasks a netbook would do wouldn't ever use more than that, would it???

No, but on some sites you can get a 2Gb stick for around the same cost as 1Gb...

EDIT - Obviously the individual netbook determines your purchasing too; number of slots available, whether it likes having the original stick pulled (some are fussy I read :? )...

Absolutely [LIFTED] unbelieveable. How is the man who invented this [LIFTED] stupid [LIFTED] [LIFTED] operating system the richest person in the world?

I've spent an entire day trying to download drivers and update all sorts of [LIFTED] to try and get this stupid [LIFTED] thing to wirelessly connect to my router. It's the onlly reason I bought the stupid piece of [LIFTED]. It can see it, but will not get an IP address form it.,

I [LIFTED] HATE PCS.

*posted on my ninety-ninety god knows what ancient mac that I had to get a wireless card from ebay for that worked perfectly first time I plugged it in because I can't connect wirelessly on a brand new [LIFTED] netbook.*

*Could have also been posted from my PS3 which also worked first time I ever tried to connect it to my wireless network*

*Or my mates iPod touch which worked perfectly first time when he tried it*

*Or the other two people who had no problem with their iphones*

No, you hate setting up a wireless network, like everyone else on the planet.

I've got a wireless network and it works fine. Always has. Unfortunately, I introduced Windows to the equation. That's the only thing that's causing the issue.

Yes, that's where things went wrong for me too, in the end I just gave up since I had mobile BB by that point

Wi-Fi in the home is quite possibly the c*ntiest thing since reality TV

I'm guessing this is XP? I've always found networking on XP to be nothing short of awful.

I'd be using Linux if I was you.

He got rich by making OS, just as you mentioned.

You see, drivers are written by other guys, not by the richest man. I guess guys who made you netbook didn't write those drivers very well ;)
