You shouldn't say such things.

The girl on the right is the star of the show, Mikoto Misaka. She's a level 5 psychic who controls electromagnetism. She'll either fry you, or her trade mark kill is the railgun where she accelerates a coin to a speed capable of vapourising you.

The girl on the left is Kuroko Shirai, a member of the Public Moral Committee, "Judgment". She's a level 4 psychic, and her powers are "instant teleportation". She doesn't like men, and she can teleport your gonads into your heart if she doesn't like you.

Shirai likes Misaki a lot. I think that's pool water dripping from their swim suits, but it could just be that she came a lot. There are no men in this show, except dead ones.

I must get round to those Anime GNs now that you mention it (Death Note and Corpse Delivery Service, no spoilers please if you've read or seen 'em!) :D

You could also try Naoki Urasawa's Monster. I borrowed this from the local library 4 at a time only to discover that they hadn't got the final part No.18. Bought it off Amazon and really enjoyed it.
Amazon clicky

I am going to start Death Note as soon as Part 1 is back in the library. Or I might just watch the film :)

I knew someone would call me on that  , I actually knew the difference (possibly from asking on this very thread or over at the other place), but I'd already posted and my break was over

I'll give that a go once I eventually get round to starting and finishing the other two

Completely changing the subject, (sort of) but I was watching The Big Bang Theory recently and Sheldon pronounced the word Anime as "Annie May"... is this how we in England pronounce it?

Just curious is all :)

It depends how your accenting went.

It's supposed to be like Animé i believe with the stress only on the "A".

As opposed to the stresses on the "Ann" and "May" in "Annie May"

On the Manga side of things, has anyone read The Drifting Classroom? I've read the first 3 volumes but the art is very dated (the manga was first published in the mid-70's) and I'm not sold on the story either. I just wanted to know if it improves as it goes along.

I've read so many modern GNs recently where one aspect can all but kill your enjoyment - it might have a brilliant story, but it looks like it was drawn by a secondary school art student etc :(

To give you an example, I read a Punisher book yesterday that had Daredevil, Wolverine and Spider-man all team up to take down Frank since each of them had previously struggled individually... The premise was sound enough as these things go, but the artwork changed by the panel

And too many of the Batman stories of late have great artwork and a central premise, but the story's all over the place :x

I never saw the first season, so I've done some catching up and I'm now totally up to date. I didn't sleep much the last few days

It's heading for a 9/10 rating for plot, originality, character and action. It's extremely good and I'm loving it, so thank you for bringing it to my attention!

I'm a little confused by that. Maybe it will make more sense in the morning; but is this to be live action rather than animated? If so, it could be well worth seeing. Live action brings a new dimension (duh) to the project, and a new audience to what is one of the best stories ever conceived.

One thing we seriously do not need however is a reanimation of old gits.

Yes, it's not the clearest is it? From what I've read elsewhere, it'll be live action, filmed in 3D like Avatar. Which could be cool, but I have my doubts about being able to sit through a lot of CGI in general, and just as many for sitting through it all in 3D :?
