Peter, just forget about it.

Quite why you are pestering them to open your account I don't understand. If they're that hopeless even when you are trying to become a customer, then the outlook isn't good.

It all turned out well.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you sort it out? Branch, letter or telephone?

Peter.

Telephone.

I want an account with them because they offer some quite attractive benefits. I wouldn't waste my time and money pestering them if it wasn't worth my while.

It looks like I'll be giving them a call tomorrow. According to their own complaints procedure, they agree to acknowledge all complaints within 7 days, but they've already failed at that!

Peter.

I've been with natwest for years now. I recently forgot to cancel my standing order for rent as I was moving out. Managed to sort most of the other bills out but forgot that. Anyway, I got a call from the graduate manager stating a standing order was due to go out that day, had been put on hold, they knew I was gonna get paid in three days' time and wanted me to call them back (I couldn't answer phone so that was the voicemail message). I got back to them a little too late, and they had allowed the standing order to go through. I had told them it was supposed to be cancelled. Anyway because it went through, I was over my overdraft limit but didn't incur a charge for doing so.
