okenobi, I have no idea how severe (or not) your asthma is, so I won't pass comment. However, having been in hospital with mine a few times I take it pretty seriously.

I've only missed my flu jab once, and I lived to regret it. Thus in this instance, I won't be taking any chances.

I’ve only had one flu jab - and that was a long time ago. This was during a time when my breathing was being badly compromised by sharing an office with a lot of smokers. I’ve since learned that that time, and the whooping cough I suffered as a child, has affected my breathing and my lung capacity will never be the size it should be.

Up until now, I’ve taken my chance with not having a flu jab, and there have been times when I’ve been affected, and times when I’ve not. What does seem to happen these days is that when I get a cold, I am likely to have a chest infection that follows. That does affect the breathing.

Now I do know that a chest infection is NOT flu, but I do know that flu could be a trigger. What I don’t want is a chest infection following an illness that has been deeper in my lungs than before. I’ll be in the queue with Linux_User getting the jab. I am not looking forward to it.

If you're used to it, and you see it as a necessary thing, then you're gonna do it aren't you?

I've been hospitalised a few times. My peak flow's been sub 100 before, and yeah it's scary. However, I can't see that flu (or any other mild virus) is gonna kill me. Will it be unpleasant? Probably. But do I intend to let the government make me fearful enough to jab me in the arm? No, absolutely not. It's a common virus. Not polio, smallpox, whatever.

Your choices are your own. Paul too. If the virus is coming and I get it, I'm sure it'll be unpleasant. But perhaps strangely to some people, I trust a naturally occurring virus, more than I do the government.

If you want to be really scared, try listening to John Dvorak and Adam Curry discussing what the American Government are proposing! Forced vaccination, threatening people who won't get a jab with quarantine, or having the right to break into houses and forcing local medical workers to vaccinate people!

No Agenda, 2nd July (trying to find a link, I get the podcast through iTunes)...

You can trust TV to elevate sniffles into a crisis. And then you can trust the internet to turn it into an illuminati instigated apocalypse.

Well clearly that's wrong, and I highly doubt the same mistake will be repeated over here.

Well I hope not, but I wouldn't put it past them.

After further reading, it seems the anecdotal evidence points to the fact that H1N1 could well have been engineered. But of course, that would make me a crazy, paranoid, conspiracy theorist, how reads the internet too much, now wouldn't it?

Quote:
Moreover, neuroaminidases of these new H1N1 swine flu examples are more similar to H5N1 avian flu strains than other H1N1 variants found in the Americas or than that of the historic strains such as the 1918 Spanish flu [31]. This is surprising since avian flu strains typically have different hemaglutinin (HA) subtypes (e.g. H5N1). Combinations of HA and NA subtypes need to be 'fine-tuned' to recognize the same type of sialic acid modifications to allow smooth interplay of the two proteins, which is important for the viral cycle [6]. These results support the notion that, also inside the family of N1 subtypes, a clear distinction can be made between avian-like H1N1, such as the one from the current outbreak, and other existing H1N1 strains.

no conspiracy

Baxter pharmaceuticals (Austria) released H5N1 (avian flu) contaminated 'flu vaccine' in February this year a total of 72 Kilograms of this H5N1 (avian flu) contaminated 'flu vaccine' was delivered to 18 countries worldwide these countries have not, as yet, been fully disclosed.

Baxters Austrian pharmaceutical laboratories is a level 3 registered facility and only deliberate cross contamination could have occurred at this level for this vaccine type. the W.H.O are investigating this but no information in regard to that investigation have been released …

They really plan on doing this in a country where a large percentage of the population has guns, there are laws that allow you to open fire on people entering your property without your permission and quite a large chunk of the population trust their government less far than they could throw their sofa? It'll be a bloodbath. It'll be like Waco going franchised.

utter poppycock :D
Your forgetting the complete ability of humans to screw things up with recourse to deliberate plan or conspiracy.
