I'll be joining you lot on the ferry out then. I wonder how many Nick Griffin would get right . I find a lot of the questions rather nonsenical. One I was asked, for example, is the year in which it was made legal in the UK for a woman to divorce her husband. I can't see any reason why someone migrating into the UK would need to know this. I can very easily see whether they might need to know if it's legal for a woman to divorce her husband now (as this is not legal in some countries) but what the heck does it matter if that was allowed 150 rather than 160 years ago? It seems more than a little likely to me this is a system designed to weed out those making fairly perfunctory applications for citizenship. It's got much more to do with rote-learning the book they recommend and thus is more about showing some effort to pass the test than whether you would be a useful member of society or not. Jon

15 out of 24, so another fail here. There is very little there that seems relevant at all. Apart from the aforementioned Divorce business, WTF does it matter if I know what the Parliamentary records are called?? More relevant for people coming into this country might be- You are having a boundary dispute with your neighbour, should you- a. Go on Jeremy Kyle and bitch about it b. Get your AK47 and slay his entire family c. Employ a surveyor and maybe a solicitor d. Have a blazing row in the street and get arrested- but only if there is a TV camera crew in attendance.
