What's with the quote marks? Does "fix their computer" mean something else now? Damn I must be getting old.

It's not that, it's just usually, they don't have their wireless button switched on, on their lappy. Or they didn't enter their WPA key right, or have forgotton it. Or they've screwed something up, and it keeps blue screening. Pretty much just basic support stuff. But I don't car, I get my £20 an hour!

Yes, it will be interesting to see how quiet it becomes when Dennis comes back online.

Most people seemed to come from CPC, PC Pro and Macuser. As the is no longer a CPC meeting place, I'd expect more CPC readers to stay here rather than go back to the other new Dennis Meeting Places. I hope the majority of MacUser/PC Pro readers will visit here as well as there own meeting places too.

It seems to me it would just make more sense to use here as the one central Meeting Place - and it's just less annoying in every way

to be honest, over on the Mac User side, the board called "MacUser Forum" was basically used as a private meeting place, I don't know if the PCPro board was used as such? Seems a bit silly to have two 'private' meeting places....

The PcPro forum was mainly questions to the editors about PcPro articles etc.
Very quiet.

All the MacUser boards were quiet, bar one. It could have got by quite nicely on just two boards "Help and Chat" As it was there were half a dozen very quiet help boards and one active chat board. The thing is the MacUser forum had a different vibe. Whist the Meeting Place was like a busy pub complete with sports on a big screen tv the MacUser board had the feel of a cocktail bar. No spam, no trolls, just friends chatting to the sound of a gentle piano. I enjoyed both places but there is nothing here to replace the MacUser board for me yet. Those that know me know that I like the Pussy Cat Club for my chat venue of choice.
