Is Barack Obama just openly trolling Trump?
This decision could be reversed by Trump. Decisions like this can be revoked by successors of the issuing person, I guess they are normally not challenged out of professional courtesy, but this is Donald Trump we are talking about here.

Yes. Wouldn't you?

Don't think so. A sentence which has been commuted is considered served (note it's commuted not suspended). Trump can't just get him chucked him back in jail because there's no outstanding crime to serve a sentence against. Even a Republican judge would have to be absolutely mental to sign off on a warrant to do that, the ACLU would have whoever did it dragged over hot coals.

I think it would be difficult for Trump to reverse this, but certainly not out of the question given his ... dislike of transgender people in the armed forces as well as a particular dislike of Manning.
I'm not saying it would be wise of him to challenge this, but again I say that this is Donald Trump we are talking about.

Edward Snowden must be getting a bit twitchy given how chummy Trump and Putin seem to be.

Possibly, but I suspect it's not likely he'll be chucked back straight away. What you have to realise is Trump is they're not actually friends, it's a convenient relationship where both has got something they want. The question of whether Putin will send Snowdon back doesn't actually involve whatever Trump wants, it's entirely dependent on whether it gets Putin anything to do so. They may make all these public pronouncements of friendship but the bare fact is both men are entirely selfish and would happily leave the other one dangling off a cliff if it suited them.

Can't say I agree with Obama on this one.
Nations can't afford soldiers to go rogue and away secret information. This is almost saying it's okay to do that.

If what they (the government) was doing was illegal (and much of it was) then its your duty - after all saying "I was only obeying orders" has been proved not to be a defence
