Why is ending free movement a good thing?

You do anyway. Everyone has to - UK nationals and Johnny Foreigner alike. You’ll find British border controls on the EU side as well as on our side. Travelling from London to Brussels on the EuroStar (I don‘t like flying, much prefer the train so this is where my experience lies) requires going through passport control - UK exit and EU entrance at St Pancras. This is probably to do with the Shzengen zone. Getting off the train on the EU side (paris or Brussels) is simple. No passport controls. Just walk off out of the station. If in Brussels, enjoy the massive Tintin mural. On the way back - Show Passport to UK entrance in the EU station before boarding the train, and again when disembarking in London. Getting back IN to the UK if you are a national is horrible. You’re treated with genuine suspicion. I live here, welcome me back! We are already the most paranoid, untrusting country in Europe. It’ll just get worse.

So are you going to answer the question about why you think free movement is a bad idea?

And FYI I'm not illegal. I was born and raised in London. My Mother had a British passport.

with free movement you can not control borders i want controlled borders in the most draconian way for the UK. not withstanding all illegals removed by any and all means possible.
but it seems this is moving away from the point ...

You're correct I think. The Shzengen zone is not the same as the EU principle of freedom of movement of labour. The zone is essentially 'We're in mainland Europe and you could cross the border any number of places if you wanted to so checking passports is futile, so we won't." The UK can still check passports if we like. This is different from the principle of freedom of movement, which basically means if you have an EU state passport no member state can just say 'You can't come in because we don't like the look of you'. For a state government to stop an EU state citizen travelling and living in another EU state requires one of a set of criteria - for example people can still be stopped from entering any EU State if they have certain criminal convictions. The two quite often get confused. I find UK incoming customs to be utterly horrible even to UK citizens. Of course the fact they're utterly horrible to everyone and this hasn't stopped massive immigration won't stop them trying to be even more horrible to everyone come Brexit.

We're still waiting for you to answer why free movement is a bad thing.... That's not an answer. You will never have full control over who comes in to our exits this country. By draconian do you mean building a big wall and pouring hot oil over people?

Count me as an illegal too.
My mother is from Germany, and my father from Scotland which with a bit of luck will be disassociating itself from Little England and staying in the EU.
Still it means I'll have a choice of safe havens if the Brexiteers ever actually get their way.
