A friend has his first exhibition of photographs in the middle of November. I'm working and nobody's willing to cover leave for me for two days. *le sigh*

I bought a DVD of Top Cat to show to my daughter. She likes cats and I used to like this particular cartoon. It was absolute crap and we didn't get through the first episode. I've got a nagging suspicion that Wacky Races will be awful too!

Nostalgia is great. But some things are best left in the past.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-37732204Can't find the WTF thread... Even the grandmother has an opinion aired there, but no mention of at least an impact report on the child.

Our poorly cat is still with us, but I fear we are looking at this week likely being her last. She‘s lost a lot of weight, is eating small amounts, still maintains her daily routine, but I do feel that we are getting very close to the end now. It’s a case of taking each day as it comes. We’ve been doing our best to keep her happy, but at the end it never, ever seems enough.

One of my cats hasn't been doing well over the last few months either. Took her to the vets for an examination and she screamed so much he couldn't do it. She seems happy enough but has lost weight and wants to be outside all the time

We had to say goodbye to our cat Xena today. It was obvious last night that she had had enough, so it was that final trip to the vet this morning. She’s been here since she was a young kitten, and has, I feel (or I hope anyway - she never gave us cause to think otherwise), had a full and happy life with us. All injuries mended, all illnesses dealt with. Fun, games, food, and lots of attention have been had with her. Sadly, this was one fight that she just was not going to win, so the last few weeks have been spent spoiling her and keeping her as comfortable and as happy as possible. Her appetite tailed off, she nibbled at her food, but never really wanted to eat very much in one go. Right now, my wife’s wrangling the other two cats for dinner. When she was healthy, Xena would be there first, being very enthusiastic - but not today. It‘s going to take me a while to adjust to her not being here. One very much missed pussy cat.

I am somewhat confused by the different lengths of time it apparently takes to transfer across gas and electricity supplied/details from one provider to another. Same changeover date for both last month but only one seems to be up and running properly so far.
