My cat - who is not well, and has only a few weeks to go according to the vet. She’s got a growth in her intestines, which means she’s eating little and is losing weight. It’s not treatable. If she did have surgery, she may not survive.
So we’re doing cat indulgence for the next few weeks until she crossed the inevitable line, and we need to take her to the vet one last time.
Happy because we have a little more time with her, sad because I know she won’t be around for much longer. She is definitely _my_ cat - she decided that as a kitten, and I’m the person she always comes to. So this has really hit me hard, it’s difficult to think of anything else.
She seems comfortable and happy at the moment, and is certainly showing her strong personality still. So we take each day as it comes now. She woke me up at 5am today - lots of purring and being happy. This went on for a couple of hours. I enjoyed that.

Hmm, sorry to hear that. Still, if your cat is happy and not in pain then that's the main thing for now.

A client knows what’s going on, and he’s sent mea fun distraction as he calls it go do. I animate little cartoons of their staff, and they have a new person, so I’ve been asked to make that happen. It’s distracting, to say the least.

She seems quite herself, despite the problem. We have some steroids to give her every day. I know that’s going to make her more active, but the vet said that it will also help slow down the growth. She ate all her food last night, and is more hungry today too. I’ve managed to get the tablet into her today by popping Dreamies into her mouth (she”s always taken treats like this, so this is normal), and one was followed by a tablet. How long it is until she’s wise to this trick is anyone’s guess - she is a clever cat (can open locked cat flap in seconds). So no evidence of pain or discomfort or distress at the moment. She’s thinner than normal, but she’s doing all the usual things she does, and her daily timetable seems unaffected. So we’ll let her carry on for as long as she seems happy to.

I appear to have lost a free cinema ticket. Had two, could only find one and I swear they were both in the same place. Not amused. Hopefully it'll turn up when I'm not looking for it and before it expires.

Sometimes, you know it's going to be a crap day the moment you get out of bed.
Trainee doctor has been summoned urgently to a meeting this am, so have had to cancel/rebook half her morning appointments. One of the other docs was stuck in traffic so had to see her patients until she arrived (took about an hour). Got three home visits this morning (ordinarily, might do 1-2 as duty doc).
Another 8.5 hours to go.

Well, the cat seems to have bounced back. She’s been taking the tablets for a week, and her appetite has returned, she seems to be feeling less bony than she was, and she’s very much her usual self, and her daily routine has returned to normal. She’s taking a couple of sittings to eat a pouch of cat food now, but she’s finishing those off, so the normal amount of food is going in.
So while we know that something is wrong, I’m hoping that she’ll be as she is now for the majority of the time she has left - which could be weeks, could be months, we don’t really know. I’m just pleased to see her being happy and unbothered by anything.

Something is afoot at work. Supervisors being called into meeting with directors and HR. This can't possibly end well. Time to polish the CV me thinks.

Sleep and stress.
Flying out to the Canaries this weekend. It's a 6am flight so gotta get up early. With us both working long days, I know it's going to be a PITA (sleep on Friday 2200 and get up for around 0200 so can get to the airport by 0330). Last night, we got clothes packed and just toiletries left.
Swmbo had today off to get everything else sorted. Sod's law she was on-call and got called in at 0100. Couldn't sleep until she returned and even then I struggled. Managed four hours' sleep in total.

I need to be up in 90 mins to catch a flight. I haven't slept in 24 hours. Now I'm worried if i fall asleep, i'"ll sleep through the alarm and miss my flight.

I think I unwittingly saw a neighbour's car being stolen. Swmbo heard a noise and so I got up to have a look. Saw one of the neighbour's cars driving off. Didn't have my glasses on. Assumed it was neighbour heading off somewhere. Police arrived a few minutes later.

Has the server migration broken the search function?
I was looking for an old post (over a year old) and got nothing.

The search was broken before the migration.
