Hinting fonts in FontLab Studio - something I really need to know more about for a couple I’m working on at the moment. It’s a complex subject.

Thanks much, I'm really loving it and (luckily) my instructor is loving my enthusiasm. I can't wait to get out and do the job now!! 8-)

Rewatching Suits. Currently on season 4. There's a character who used to be an accountant. I instantly recognised the voice but for the life of me couldn't work out where I heard it before. Checked it out. The guy used to be Dr Phlox on Enterprise.

John Billingsly? He does pop up in quite a few things. He's been in NCIS and Stargate for example.

Yup. It never clicked in the earlier episode with him in it but in the later one, he says "Well, well" as a greeting and I instantly knew I'd heard it before.

Woohoo. Extra week or two at work before I'm unemployed again.
Seriously the extra work is appreciated

Wife goes back to work today, so I have to adjust to not having her around the house all the time - those 6 week holidays are great, but it takes a while for me to get sued to being alone all day.

She’s got a couple of things to deal with that are cause for concern. First off is the new exercise books. Pretty much all schools sue some kind of soft back book. However, this school has decided that, for some insane reason, to go over to hard back exercise books. If you have 32 kids in your class, then that’s a lot of weight. I suspect it’s the head’s way of ensuring hat more stay after work - no one really wants to lug that lot home to mark. The other is something called “the daily mile” where the kids will be exercised by running or walking for 15 minutes first thing every morning. Sounds great, until it‘s been deemed mandatory that staff do this too (some twaddle about “being seen to be doing it and setting an example”). I’m wondering how long that will last, and how long the staff put up with this.

Oh, and the 6 autistic kids she gets in her class.

So the new school year is going to be a barrel of laughs.

Hardback books must be a PITA. So much easier to open paperback and flip to the last page. As for "daily mile", IMO what happens in a teacher's private time is up to them, unless the head wants to pay for staff to do this.

Has the head teacher got some sort of deal with the local army recruitment office or something? Maybe get the kids doing drill with marching songs.

Well done Zippy!

So, how many more tests do you have to pass before you're fully qualified?
