Will SUICIDE SQUAD Have A Director's Cut? Director David Ayer Weighs In On Possibility — LRM Online

That seems to answer our chat above.

SUICIDE SQUAD Unlikely to Get a China Release — LRM Online
http://lrmonline.com/news/suicide-squad ... na-release

WB will not like that - if the film is as bad as reported, a Chinese release would have at least propped it up for the supposed extra millions that were spent on the reshoots.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels being remade, Rebel Wilson to star | Den of Geek
http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/movies/dirt ... on-to-star

Oh, do fcuk off. At a time when they're starting to draw a female audience for all sorts of films, Hollywood is determined to shoot itself in the foot by relying on remakes of cult classics starring the plump girls from previous hits. Likely crap reboots as well because the chances of topping the originals are low, not to mention how lazy the starting point is.

Everyman: the chain pushing to bring home cinema to the high street | Business | The Guardian

Yeah, I think I'd just stay at home over high prices, stuff you can do at home and encouraging zero hour contracts. Even I'm not that desperate to see a new film. Especially the sort that are likely to be on TV or services much quicker than others.

The power of advertising lol.

Every major blockbuster this year has opened strongly on self-generated hype it seems, only to fall off a cliff in it's second week when word gets round that it's a bit poo.

I guess it's just doing what it is intended to do, and if that's the case, then I guess it's money well spent.

In other news Marvel and DC Comics have enough superheroes for 3,400 years of movies at the current output rate.
That made me laugh, but I do like the analogy between superhero films now, and the westerns of the early years of cinema.

A second solo Superman film is now being developed.
Finally, news of a sequel to Man of Steel.

That's assuming the current crop of movies makes it that far tbh. But I mean.... all they have to do is make a straightforward, time-honoured film. That's all. Don't make it look depressing, don't have Superman moping, if you're gonna have an uber villain let them steal the show (see every other film ever), have a screenplay instead of random 'cool moments' that take three hours to link... These ideas aren't fcuking new!

Do a very soft reboot if you have to, get someone who understands the English language to give Clark interaction at The Daily Planet. Lois etc are fcuking useless until you do that. You can't rely on Supes alone.

Reboot won't work, as the character is now part of the wider universe that's been setup.
A straightforward film won't really happen either, not for this sequel, because of what happened during Batman v Superman, which is something that's going to have to be addressed.

I mean a VERY soft reboot in terms of character, perfect for what happened in BvS since he's gonna have to reconnect years ahead of the MoS sequel anyway, and once Snyder has finally been kicked to the kerb after 'League. The soft reboot I'm envisioning would only be bolstered by his own film where there's real time for that, not like some Snyder mood fest.

'League will have to address Superman in a massive way*, which is gonna be a ridiculous problem to have in a movie already stuffed to Aquaman's gills. And likely added to by the events of Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.

* Look at the convolutions Snyder went through just addressing the MoS scrap in BvS. It affected his whole sequel.
