The dreaded question has been asked: "what do you want to do for your birthday?"

It's a significant number, and is less than 5 months away. I have no idea, and the idea of some large celebration fills me with dread (I hate large gatherings of people), yet I know I'll start to feel pressure to "do something".

Seriously? You found an 8ft piece of jet engine? What's it off?

If the person asking the question was Mrs Paulzolo then you could try and go for a nice holiday, just the two of you. Go to the pub afterwards with your friends.

I'm annually faced with the same question and TBH by my 16th birthday I didn't care for presents so much as having a good time with friends or family. Last year was a meal out. I still got presents which were completely unnecessary (aftershaves despite the fact that I have so many they'd last me ten years; clothes which weren't to my taste). This year I got cash and went away with the wife for a few days. Had afternoon tea at the ritz.

I can never thing of what I want to do, or what I want for my birthday these days. All I want is not to be at work, so I always book it off.
This year I've not been able to do that. For the first time in my life I'll be working on my birthday

Is there a more annoying sound in the world than a child learning to play the recorder?

A public performance by a string quartet that shouldn't have been let out in public rapidly looses it's charm that's for sure.

Have you heard a child learning to play the violin?

The kids round here grew up on an enormous estate, so they still think it's perfectly normal to scream at each other now they live somewhere else :x (as they're doing right now)

Yesterday they were trying to blame me for £0.25m of lost rig time.
Today they have the proof it wasn't me that [LIFTED] up.

Feels good.

I'm assuming lodging a complaint in your line of work is a bit 'yeah, we had to let him go'?
