I doubt it, Jackie. If it wasn't for the Chinese market the studios would have had serious questions to answer in the last few years. BvS, Warcraft, Godzilla, Terminator Genysis, Pacific Rim... all pretty much disastrous in studio terms without the Chinese box office money.

They'd be insane not to, but they'd need to give creative control to Marvel. Nobody would give a flying sh1t about Spidey happening all over again without Marvel. Fantastic Four was a disaster as was Apocalypse in meaningful terms. At the moment they're basically relying on Deadpool to create a movie universe, and he was the character they turned down year after year. Christ, Gambit can't catch a break and he's not even a character anyone is dying to see. And especially not played by Channing Tatum.
