Wanted to buy some LED bulbs off Amazon. They limit you to five per customer. I need ten. Tried making one order of five and then order another set but again doesn't let me. Cancelled the order.

You don't have a mate or family member who can place an order for the other five?

Can't get Windows working on my new SSD. Tried cloning the driver, but the new drive is 18GB smaller than the old one... Easus said no problem, the last partition would be cut down; but instead, after 5 hours, it ened up with an unusable drive.

Tries a fresh install. Windows Setup won't recognise the drive - well, I can click on load drivers and search the drive for drivers, but Windows doesn't recognise it! WTF!!

Finally reduced the size of the main partition, so that it fit and copied the System and Windows partitions... Nada.

Tried rebuilding the partition, Windows Setup can't access it.

Tried bcdboot, said it worked... Nada

Tried bootsect, said it worked... Nada

I think if I were in your position, the voice in my head would suggest installing Linux, just to prove that I could install something, (anything) on the drive, before I returned it as a DOA.

Sometimes, the voice in my head is wise. Sometimes it's an idiot. I'll leave you to decide which it is being in this case.

I installed a 960GB SSD last week. Windows could see it when I plugged it in via a USB3 caddy, but claimed it was faulty and Mirai HD Clone failed at the end of the write. Once I fitted it and hooked it up to the motherboard, Disk Management let me create the volume and format it.

It works a treat - that one drive replaced four 256GB SSDs, so I have less cable clutter and spare SATA ports again.

SUSE installed in less than 15 minutes. Then I searched again and it seems Windows 10 has an additional partition that needs to be copied, so back to the cloning tool...

The sunshine was yesterday, you missed it ;)

Honestly, I've seen a summer's day at the front of our house and autumn at the back...

There should be sun there.

I went to Turkey... early May a couple of years ago. That was near Antalya. It was about 30 degrees most days.

If the phone has the message "no network" then it doesn't mean it's a networking issue. If you can read the message then it's means the phone is getting power (over POE from the network), this means it's unlikely to be a physical link issue.

Now you need to work your way through the OSI stack to diagnose it. Polycoms being the way they are can show "no network" even with Data Link & Network Layers working if they don't receive a provisioning file.

If you check the logs on the call server you'll be able to check the port counters to check it's up, then check your TFTP service, DHCP scope etc
Then check the phones for an IP address & the logs on the phone to check where it gets stuck.

Then you can check about vlan's with the network team & check mac filtering etc

Fairly basic troubleshooting steps and nearly always telephone related rather than an actual network issue.

It was a network issue. It affected 3 phones on 3 different floors at exactly the same time. I've just found out other systems had problems as well.

All the swtiches are overloaded and the network boys won't take any responsibility for any problems. This is an ongoing battle with them.

Anyway... back to it and thanks

Overloaded on the POE allowance, bandwidth, VLAN's? Pull the stats from the CPU & port counters on the switch.
Normally if a switch is overloaded (which takes a lot) it'll bomb out the whole network rather than just a couple of ports.
