Know how the Alien takes on the primary features of it's host? This one came out of Baraka from Mortal Kombat...

It's genius, cos the game already contains the Predator and a number of other horror icons.

Ridley's currently giving away far too much for the upcoming film - it's not even out until 2017!

As we inch closer and closer to the start of production on Ridley Scott’s latest return to the Xenomorph-infested world, Alien: Covenant, there has been a lot of talk that the sequel to 2012’s Prometheus will introduce a bunch of new characters. We don’t know much about them, but we now know who will play one, as the film has found its lead: Katherine Waterston.

The 35-year-old actress co-starred with Joaquin Phoenix in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Day-Glo noir Inherent Vice last year, and according to Deadline, she will play the lead in Scott’s next science fiction adventure. Though the details are sparse, she will play a character named Daniels.

It'll be too close to what they're trying to do with Hicks and Ripley now.

That's a shame. It would be good to see Carrie again.

A fried of mine from my time at the DHSS was at school when Aliens was being shot. His English teacher was Carrie's on set tutor/chaperone.

Just realised they killed the tribute film for no reason now with 'Alien 5' not going ahead - maybe it can still be released.

IIRC this has been posted before, but it's an interesting article for Alien fans

Some sort of bust or figure is being produced using the Internecivus Raptus moniker.

Maybe they pulled Alien 5 because in that particular universe, [LIFTED] like time travel etc. doesn't appear to exist. They don't even have warp speed (reducing interstellar travel times to days rather than months or years), relying on hyper sleep to get people there without them ageing.

I've certainly seen that article before, and it tells me little about the word xenomorph in the context of the film's script that I didn't know before. Remember, it's a film from the 1980s, and there was a number of Vietnam films around at the time, and the marines certainly fitted in with those, despite the fantastic premise. I would say that referring to the alien as a "xenomorph" wasn't something we did at the time - it seems to be a more recent invention.

It was the Raptus moniker now being used which caught my interest. But then maybe it's just another way of standing out from the crowd there's so many Alien items on the go now.

BTW, check out the Queen I bought in the Best/worst thread if you haven't already. Even the included backdrop is brilliant, though I've just realised I didn't photo that

Preview of NECA's Upcoming Aliens Royal Facehugger - The Toyark - News
http://news.toyark.com/2016/01/22/previ ... ger-188966

I'm not sure I like the idea of a separate Facehugger (it appeared in an Alien 3 deleted scene). The notion is that it can infect two hosts, one spawning a queen, the other a protective warrior drone, before dying as usual. It just all seems a bit too neat, which is probably why they dropped it. It's been slightly different behaviourally across each book format and in appearance.

It’s a bizarre idea - a double embryo payload. I guess it makes sense to some, but it would be more sensible to assume that at some point a queen alien would create a queen egg - either because the hive has become too crowded and they need to expand to another area, or her life is almost over and a replacement is required (which mirrors most social insects - noting that IIRC in the Aliens novelisation, it talks about drove aliens which would be male, smaller and less active, taking on egg moving duties). In both cases, the worker aliens would sense the need to provide the new queen with a defence of some kind, and surely would move eggs which whose off spring would then take on the task of royal guard until the queen is big enough to look after herself.

Toy Fair 2016 - NECA Aliens and Predators - The Toyark - News
http://news.toyark.com/2016/02/13/toy-f ... ors-192839

Already got the brown 'Dog' (this is a re-issue), but I'll likely buy two of the gray ones for displaying. I'm assuming it's from the molten lead scene?

Ripley doesn't look as naff without the jacket, so I'll be buying that too. Not sure about the commandos.

I'm assuming the 'Queen facehugger' and the 'puppy Dog' were developed but never used/cut from Alien 3. I reckon they'd be in a pack, maybe slightly cheaper than usual. Not sure I like the idea of them tbh, but they might look cool IRL all the same.

I love those dioramas!

Just had another look at that 'puppy Dog' Alien, it's got more of a Queen's head :?

The stasis chamber lights up, which saves me making one ;)

I'm wondering how posable the 'bursters are as only the tail is on the 'huggers.

I fully intend to do an Alien life cycle photo now :D
