Over the last 10 days or so, the side of one finger on my left hand (the proximal phalanx of my index finger to be exact) has been completely numb, apart from a slight pins and needles sensation when you touch it.
I'm not normally one who worries, I've seen my GP once in the last year, but I thought maybe this might be worth getting checked out after speaking to the nurse at work.
My discussion with the GP can be paraphrased more or less as such:
"This bit is all tingly when you touch it, and I've no sensation otherwise. This is new to me, and it's been like it for about 10 days."
"Ah, well, there's 3 nerves that serve the hand and they all do this or that."
"Right."
"I can't suggest anything. It sounds like the nerve isn't working properly there."
"Ah. Soooo how long do I let this go on for before I should be more concerned? Is it likely to go away?"
"Uhm... 6 weeks? Yeah. If it's still like it in a month, come back."

Now, clearly, a first aid course is the limit of my medical training, but I was hoping for a little more somehow. Hmmm. Didn't ask what I did for work, if it was going to affect my work. Hmm.
Might be time to change surgeries.

does it make you nervous? is there a number of days this feeling has been going on? needles to say it should return to normal soon, give us a thumbs up if it does, id say after 2 weeks of the same sensation you should see a GP and rather quackly too

Uber taxi-booking app to launch in Belfast
http://www.u.tv/News/2015/12/04/Uber-ta ... fast-50060

Hmm, be interesting to see how that goes. I can't see too many drivers 'crossing the city' for a multitude of reasons, and many of the natives like to have a rough idea of where their drivers came from for the exact same reasons.

Price could be a game changer. In regards to availability, there's a taxi company around every corner in Belfast at least.

How does Uber determine your fare exactly?

But that's not really how it works, taxis are sent on location, so the nearest one to the person wanting to go somewhere gets sent.
As for fare calculations, I've no idea how thats worked out.

I'm specifically talking about Ulster issues here ;) , that's why the big firms are saying you still won't see more drivers late at night etc.

Ah. Yes, well, those issues.
Point taken.

I feel absolutely rubbish at the moment. All thanks to me stopping my morning drink of zero calorie Red Bull. The morning has been so slow and sluggish and neverending. Still I guess I need to stop drinking it.

I hate that my brain refuses to think in terms of logistics because it's screaming, 'Weyland-Yutani! Three-breasted women!'

Hope it actually gets better for them. Mind you, they'd have to go some to fcuk it up as bad as Team Chavez.

Hasn't Cumbria suffered enough these last few days without Cameron rocking up today and stating the bleeding obvious?

As resident manchild in work I've been chosen to amuse a kid who's coming in - I like kids but it's all just a bit weird.

Get a £10 one and spend the rest on music or some better speakers.
