That is rubbish and discriminatory. Problem is you can't prove it.

That's wishful thinking for me ;) , we only talk when they want something, even the ones I live with!

You'll miss them when they are gone no matter what kind of relationship you have with them

This is true. Both of my parents are dead, but I still speak to them... it's a bit of a one sided conversation these days, but they're still in my head, and of course heart, if needed.

I have my parents in mini urns in the house. I wear my Mum's rings all the time and have my Dad's nail kit and my Grandma's make up mirror in my handbag. It's very comforting to have their things with me.

When my mum died I got a small gold cross, which she told me about a week before she died that she wanted me to have. I also got the cheapest silver necklace she had, (my choice) to put it on. My dad gave me his wedding ring about a fortnight before he died. Both pieces were stolen when we were burgled, so the only thing I have now are memories.

Oh well.

Many of you will also know I've been fighting cancer for the last year, thankfully its in static state, due to ongoing chemo. The only visible side effect is I walk with a stick so stairs are not my strong point.

Sadly I am not overly shocked, just saddened, to find that I appear to be effectively unemployable. My over 90% interview success rate since I started looking for work in February had dropped to 5% ( I had one 3 month contract but only because they knew me from previously working there. )

Dude. No clue here. Hope it's going the right way.
Are they asking out right about the illness? I'm not sure that's something you need to answer, or they should be asking.

I have no issues in explaining if asked and I brief the agency in advance so the potential client should be pre-warned the look on the guys face yesterday was a picture, I felt embarrassed for him. Its just infuriating me, that the fact I'm walking with a stick appears to be writing me off. sorry need to stop venting</rant>

and yes its in a steady state thanks for asking.

Unless it's really blatant, with witnesses (on your side) or someone is dumb enough to put it in writing then as cloaked_wolf says it's almost impossible to prove that sort of discrimination. All they have to do is say another candidate was better.
You can technically ask to see any notes they took during the interview but actually getting them may require the threat of court action and kicking up a fuss is usually a good way to ensure they'll never employ you anyway.

No, they're uniformly awful.

Yeah, in general I find them to be like the first three X-Men films; all the right elements not enough heart for you to really care. But it's been a long time since I saw an action trailer that looked genuinely thrilling. Must be a new trailer editor on the scene ;)
