Re. bit at the end. Oh yes, one of their main concerns is Britain

How about we have a strong word with the Saudi sickos first before we jump in, eh? And I mean a stronger word than we had with Pakistan...

This bit seems odd, and failing to understand the area:

Quote:
Fallon said: “It is a new parliament and MPs will want to think very carefully about how we best deal with Isil. [There is an] illogicality [with] Isil not respecting the border lines; they don’t differentiate between Syria and Iraq, they’re establishing this evil caliphate across both countries. There is no legal bar to us operating in Syria but we don’t have the parliamentary approval for it.”

The first thing is that the whole area was artificially carved up by a bloke in a tent with a map and a ruler last century to ensure that oil flows, and to destroy the Ottoman Empire. Thus Syria, Iran, Iraq and Kuwait were formed (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_S%E8vres). The people of that area are inherently nomadic - they drift across the desert, and where they pitch up is home. IS is clearly using the same mindset.

Grizzling that they don’t do national borders is only making it a problem from a Western perspective - the whole situation there has effectively been created by that kind of thinking in the first place. I don’t have a solution, but I think it’s clearly asking too much for a modern politician to come up with something that will actually work.

What are the choices again? What's your premise that everyone's disagreeing with? Which side are you on? What's your theory?

I feel like I need to catch up on something.

I see you like to converse in the style of attention seeking Facebook statuses that don't explain what you're thinking. Just that you're upset.

ohhh, you think you're Chuck Norris! Ever at the ready to fight the rising tide of ISIS on our streets.

It's all starting to make sense.

Forgive me, perhaps I'm wrong, but I think he's saying that there's a type of arsehole person who happens to come into their own during a wartime scenario when outside of that, they are simply arseholes.

I live near the largest helicopter base in Europe. Most of the enlisted men there are most definitely arseholes. They are aggressive, lacking in any kind of manners, conversational skill and respect for other people. But if you're drowning in the channel, you 100% want a team of them to be above you in a Sea King....

Or maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick?

As for people leaving to fight for ISIS. Should we not be worrying about the causes of the conflict instead of being annoyed that people have enough balls to fight for something they believe in (unlike the majority of UK citizens who believe strongly in nothing)?

This is only my own theory, but I think it's more a case of wanting to belong to something or a group as a result of a modern alienation that takes many forms, precisely because we've become so vacuous.
