Having done a piddling amount of gardening I'm thinking Id rather cleanse large parts of it with fire.

One of the reasons I didn't buy my grandmother's house on her passing - I'd have had to spend a fortune murdering all the little patches of would-be gardening with concrete and whatever else.

When I do move house I'll be preparing a checklist of things I might otherwise overlook - like an internet connection that doesn't drop dead in doorways because of the plumbing, screaming local kids, and a back gate that actually deters nosey cnuts...

Buying. Sorry, I just read that again, should be move out! Other thoughts include looking at somewhere at least semi-detached (for my and the neighbour's sake), and having a poke around the loft (my mate's kitchen ceiling fell in!).

Microsoft have pretty much overrun E3 so far, actually giving the customers stuff that's useful and welcome by the bucketload. I doubt Sony will get much of a look-in in comparison.

From X Factor to off the charts: why Leona Lewis can't crack the top 40 | Music | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicb ... ts-failureWhat a load of bollocks. No promotion, no hit. It's that simple. It's not like quality matters now in a world of autotuned faux dance tracks and deliberately pared back ballads (the 90's had people with actual vocal ranges ffs). How is anyone supposed to stand out with a cheaper video and no air time these days? Especially with pop. It's no secret that 'artists' can't get arrested as soon as Cowell ditches them. And formerly major artists get ditched all the time now. Until the industry figures out that widening it's appeal beyond particular demographics will increase overall sales it's fcuked. As are the artists.

I'm in my last week of this round of radiotherapy, I get scanned in 2 weeks and hopefully get the all-clear (again.) I've got a cat stuck in the house, behaving like a bored toddler because he's just been treated for a cat bite abscess and has to stay indoors while he's on the antibiotics. I've got a husband who made a pretty fair attempt at cutting off his own thumb yesterday, it's been dressed for 24 hours and he's ready to take the dressing off and just leave it uncovered from now. I've got a concert this Saturday that we don't have all the tickets for yet, Father's day BBQ on Sunday which I still don't know if my sister is coming to or not and the launch of a major new driver risk management programme across the business next week.

Clangers. If those are the only ones left in the universe, then they are one generation away from extinction. All rather sad, if you ask me, which explains the melancholy feel to the show (both old and new).
My wife tells me that we are only seeing one family, and that there are others out there. I hope she's right.

I should be in London, watching Faith No More with a pass for the after show. Instead I'm trying to catch up on marking and covering my desk in snotty tissues.
