+1, but unfortunately from my point of view, also has the Skyfall vibe of 'We've made a thriller that happens to star James Bond'. That was great in Royale, but they've been ballsing it up ever since IMO.

And anyway, it's not a patch on my idea of Craig finding out a certain former double-o is secretly behind UKIP...

I think I get what you mean, but this does actually have much more of the classic Bond canon woven into it. The man in the photo does appear in the books - someone who has custody of Bond after his parents die (that's not the bloke he meets at the fjord cavern by the way - that bloke is the bloke who was at the end of Casino Royale and beginning of Quantum of Solace). And the return of SPECTRE of itself promises much more fun than the utterly po-faced Quantum organisation from the first three films appeared to offer.

I still don't think they'll be 'Moore Bond' but we might get 'mid Connery Bond' - You Only Live Twice kind of thing.

That would be brilliant :D. Sadly, one hopes UKIP will be a spent force by the time SPECTRE hits the screens...

The snarkiness was one of the best things about the recent films, it's good they're keeping it.

I hate this 'we've gotta get females!' sideways sexism crap. And how many have left over creative differences in franchise movies?

Don't think anyone outside the business knew Universal still held the rights - they'd be better selling them back if they can lol.

They'd do even better than that if they made a commercially successful stand-alone film.

They'd need to be in 'the Sony position', and they somewhat are, but Marvel would be looking a lot more control over Hulk in the future I'd guess. Apparently he has quite the role in Avengers 2, plus they must already have a good idea where he fits into the whole 'universe' bit they're going for with the Avengers sequels.

Basically either Universal gets with the program or they've got gold they can't sell, far as I'd guess.
