Feeling particularly rubbish today. Haven't slept well the last couple of nights at all, and my mood has been up and down again.

My real vent though, is that I forgot my staff pass today, I went to security to ask for a temporary pass and was literally told they wouldn't give me one because "the only way you'll learn is if you have to knock on doors all day." Honestly? Really? Is that how I'll learn is it? Clever boy. Security guard on a power trip, not what I needed first thing this morning.

I think maybe not being treated like a child in an office environment might be a start. Anyway, I've since emailed a couple of members of management and reported this, they've in turn emailed security and I should have a new card waiting for me later. Still annoying to have to knock on every door on the way to my desk to get in, I know it's my fault for forgetting my card in the first place, but god, we're human, we forget things, punishing us like children just seems a bit....childish.

I can kind of see the justification for not issuing a temprary pass if someone is a persitent offender (like every week or something) but if it's a rare or first occurance then it's just being a petty twat (or lazy git, take your pick) for the sake of it.

Exactly, also I'm a relatively new employee so it's not like I have done it over a long a period of time, I get the justification if I did it every day, but I don't nor have I. Add to that the fact that if I was a manager or senior they wouldn't have been able to get one fast enough, it's all a bit silly. To make things worse I had a manager email them to tell them to have one waiting when I went down, then I did go down.....and they'd run out. :x

Grrr! Damned Telekom, first day the engineer didn't turn up, he was on a first aid course. 4th day he didn't turn up, he was on a training course. 5th day he didn't turn up, there was a major outage in North Germany that he needed to respond to.

Okay, the last one I can understand, but that they couldn't either inform us in advance that he wouldn't be coming, or they couldn't rearrange his training around the installation appointment flabbers my gast!

And 6th day, he is on another training course!

Is there a reason you're stuck with these suppliers? Is a kind of BT Openreach sort of thing going on? That's the sort of first class customer service that would inspire me to be looking elsewhere.

Same as Open Reach

1st day engineer says - oh its up a pole - I dont have a ladder, 2nd day another engineer says "oh its up a pole I dont have a ladder, 5th Day engineer turns up - Oh its up a pole and I am not trained to go up ladders (even though I have one !!). This carried one for over 2 weeks

What is it with some PS4 discs that make it sound like an RAF reject? Many games are fine, yet others whether indie or blockbuster mean you can't even have the disc in the drive while watching iPlayer ffs

Nearly every [LIFTED] chemical could be described as "an ingredient for life" so I wish the media would stop announcing a discovery of "potential for life" on every rock in the known universe.

"Universe made up of elements on periodic table"

"Something found in space made of same stuff as something found on Earth"

Have you found a [LIFTED] alien lifeform on a planet that isn't Earth?

The answer so far is [LIFTED] no.

There's a select breed of car driver who seem to insist on ruining my day before it has begun. You're [LIFTED], the lot of you.

I'd have gone home, emailed my boss and told him security refused to let me in so I couldn't work.

If I wasn't so much of a newbie I probably would have. As it happens it was equally as satisfying having a senior manager email them. They endend up calling me down to security to offer me a new pass Friday, that wasn't really the point though, as I'd already collected my pass from home by then, I only wanted a temporary one for the day!

FAIL 8 - Quite apart from the 'safely remove device' option never appearing no matter how often I tell it (especially important with a tablet containing one of those oh so reliable micro SD cards), this POS can't even run Windows Explorer half the time. Again, important, since they've decided everything must be renamed and hidden in the arsehole of nowhere :x
