Doubt it.

Getting paid in USD rather than GBP, but over a year it works out about the same as I get now, maybe a fraction more if I do less days as the salary makes up a higher proportion of my wage than it does now.

Not sure how I'm going to stand the middle East summer sun though.

No. There's local tax and UK tax. Though I can offset what I pay there here.

I wonder what's a normal amount of holidays in the UK.
I have 22 days +banks and definitely cannot go away several times a month on that allowance :?:

Between 4 and 5 weeks seems to be usual. I was lucky and got on a 25 day (5 week) contract when I started work, when we were bought out, I managed to keep it, the staff who had worked direct for the company that bought us had 20 days. We then got 1 day extra for every 10 years service.

We have 25 days, 3 of which are used by the company for the Xmas shut-down, so 22 days plus bank holidays. It's pretty average I think.
