I got attacked by a doberman that jumped a 5ft fence when I wad 6, luckily I was wearing thick denim on the day and got away with bruises only. But I'm sure a rescue doberman will be fine.

sorry to hear that all our rescue dogs have been doberman or doberman/labrador crosses and have been brilliant with the children (now adults) and the grand children but you do need a very firm hand with them as they are bred to be guard dogs ...

My ex had a doberman / rottweiler cross and she was a beaut. Lovely dogs. It amused me to see people's reactions when I was out with her though. People see black and tan and get scared off. As I've said before it's not the dogs that are bad but the owners and how they train them. Pit bulls are great family dogs too.

Absolutely, training is key.

My big brother had a doberman. Lovely dog, with a great temperament but I can only describe her, in human terms, as a complete bimbo! Really good at staring contests, though

A friend/colleague of the gf has a rottweiler, huge dog but soft as anything (the one time he has growled was more of a dissapointed growl when I stopped stroking his neck), I really think it depends on the owner/training
