They go because they have to.

Have to? How do you make someone go to a Christmas party? Surely they could just say they're not Christian and not turn up.

"Social convention". It's a relatively small practice so unless you've a good reason not to go, you're expected to be there. Otherwise everyone will want to know why you're not. I'm the youngest by about 15 years which makes it more awkward for me.

Work Christmas Parties are basically a way to get you to subsidise the drinking habits of others.

One hates to sound like a grump but my opinion is this : Some of the people I work with I also consider my friends. Most of the people I work with, I consider 'people I work with'. The former category wouldn't be at all offended if I just didn't feel like going out with them - everyone has those days after all - and the later category wouldn't be offended because they're not really that bothered if I'm there or not anyway. So if I don't feel like going, I don't. Actually that's pretty much my opinion of all works parties all year round.

I went to our 'unofficial' christmas do as it's always a laugh but I skipped our 'official' christmas do (afternoon do with wine & nibbles & stuff) as it was a good excuse to leave early to avoid being stuck for two hours in Christmas traffic, as I had been every night for about the last three weeks.

Im not really sure how to translate myself, just my odd quirky humour that is probably alien to everyone or mostly :P what I probably mean is, because everyone is either an "adult" or "Infant" and because youre a semi pup over 30 you're an "adult" and Im playfully using the word troll ie your jokes and wordplay on stuff hence the word "troll" even though its the improper use of the word im "trolling" in the process if that makes any sense, hence the "adult troll" or would you prefer to be an infant troll seeing as you're still quite young?

Have been more aware of the loss of fellow forumites who've not been or posted in the last 2-3 years, some having last been soon after joining here despite being members of the old dump. Wonder where they've all gone.

I was thinking the same thing myself. I did send Blue a PM a few weeks ago, asking how he's doing, but I'm assuming he's not read it yet, as it's still in the outbox.
We have to assume, (and hope) that those who are not with us are enjoying their lives, in much the same way as we think of those friends in the real world, who we lose touch with.

For twice the price it would need to taste different, more protein or not. First of all, who wants milk that tastes different  , and secondly, you'd have to wonder how legit the protein process is.

If your separation process (I hesitate to say plain filtration here) is good enough you can pretty much remove anything that's not in solution so removing or concentrating the protein component should actually be the easy part.

Who owns Milka? If it's Nestle or Unilever then things could indeed get very litigious indeed. :D
