Morning all. One of two departmental open days down. Role on part 2 on Friday.
In other news, think the right person on the day won the bake-off even if it wasn't who everyone expected.

Have a great day folks

Morning all,

I have tried a new approach to teaching this week. I haven't given any paper based handouts to my students. I've explained to them that they are adults and I was giving them the opportunity to "take ownership" of their learning, and I showed them examples on the board, and invited them to make notes.

I wasn't sure if it would work, but it has been very successful, and I've noticed that they are asking a lot more questions than usual, which is a good thing.

OK, I suppose I'd better get back to planning for life after TMC. After I make a coffee.

Have agreat day, everyone.

:)

Morning all!
we pretty much never had hands out at school as copying is the first step to learning a lesson.

I dont remeber having many handouts at school - maybe the odd outline map in Geography. everything was written donw in exercise books (and then A4 folders at A level)

Morning all.

Feeling rather tired after a night out with TheFrenchun last night.

Time to find some coffee and blast some metal out at work

Hank Marvin. Tired. Think I got about 3 hours sleep but might have been less.

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Happy damn Friday! :D

Morning all,

In answer to the comments about handouts in the previous posts, we weren't given many handouts at school either. I suspect, however, that this may be due to the absence of photocopiers, rather than teaching styles.

Anyway, enough of that... it's Saturday, and I've got retro-gaming stuff to prepare for. After I drink this cuppa.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

:)
