Motion capture extraordinaire, Andy Serkis, now set to direct WB's JUNGLE BOOK adaptation! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66630... Fox has set a ton of release dates for their tentpole films including FANTASTIC FOUR 2, an untitled Marvel film, THE WOLVERINE 2, TAKEN 3, something that may or may not be PROMETHEUS 2 and more! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66628Lol, they must have real confidence in Fantastic Four, not that that's a bad thing. Not really fussed on Wolverine 2 or Taken 3, they've run those franchises into the ground already. Secret Service will be a tough sell and it's source material's just plain weak. Love to know where they'll take Prometheus 2. That untitled Marvel film... I wonder would they go for a villain picture, or a crossover against, say, Galactus. ... New Trailer for THE RAID 2 Will Give you the Best Headache You've Ever Had! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66627... GAME OF THRONES: THE MOTION PICTURE?? (article image might be a spoiler, I've only really seen the first season) http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66623 | | | | Quote: George R.R. Martin, who authors the books on which HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” is based, has big plans for the finish of the books and says “discussions” are underway regarding whether or not to end the franchise with a $100-million big-screen epic.
"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."
While a “Thrones” movie would probably prove a blockbuster (“Sex and the City,” which precipitated a blockbuster movie, was never – like “Thrones” – HBO’s top-rated series), the movies – even the R-rated movies -- are actually less permissive of things like incestuous back-door fornication than HBO.
Warner Bros., one of HBO’s Time Warner sister companies, found a billion-dollar hit in its dragon-and-dwarf epic “The Desolation of Smaug.”
Martin also hopes his “Dunk and Egg” prequels, which follow the ancestors of the Baratheons, Starks and Lannisters some 75 years before the birth of Daenerys Stormborn Targaryan, may also find their way to the big screen.
Find all of the Reporter’s story on the matter here.

“Yeah, we’ve been chatting about it… I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story." Oh how 31 years changes an opinion of someone. Mark

Pablo Larraín To Direct ‘Scarface’ Reboot http://latino-review.com/2014/03/pablo- ... ce-reboot/I've no problem with it getting rebooted since I like the original but it's just a collection of scenes more than a film to me... however, that new setting really is as awful as the article says. FFS, Mexican drug cartels are used as McGuffins in comedies now they're so played out.

That runs a little counter to everything else I've read on this topic. I read interviews with him saying that he was likely going to take a break once his Marval contract finishes, and yeah that he was likely going to direct something or other. That's actually the first piece I've seen that suggests he might quit acting altogether. But y'know what? He's likely made his money (or will have done by the end of his contract) so why not stop doing what you have to do and do something that you really want to do. If his directing fails, he can always make another film as an actor. *shrug* Mark

And neither of them claim to have heard of Tintin until much later - though at the time, the story was subtly different - they wanted to do a live action Tintin, but couldn’t get the rights. There was much muttering that the last Tintin film was a better Indy film than the Pixelated Skull was. But then Tintin seemed to have a better writing team than the last Indy outing. Reboot/recast Indy? Why not? Clearly the Mutt storyline is going nowhere (I expect we all thought Shia was going to inherit the hat in Indy V until his recent meltdowns), and as the article says, Ford is getting too old for that kind of film, and isn’t the draw he used to be. If they can keep the character rolling through some decent stories, then I’ll be fine with it.
