Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of things I can appreciate in those films (Stan Winston's effects, the use of people who can actually act). I just don't think they're great movies overall, and certainly not worth the review scores given at the time. I still consider them better efforts than what we get today, usually.

I know you like the film, we've been here many times before, but really, there's nothing underrated about ID4.

Joel Silver talks new Escape From New York trilogy

There was only one dire sequel, probably best to leave it alone. It's not like Highlander or The Crow where they milked it so often that genuine fans would actually like to see a reboot.

Antoine Fuqua To Direct ‘THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN’ Remake?!?

http://schmoesknow.com/has-the-magnific ... -director/

He's an OK director whose name only comes into real conversation because of Training Day, which was slightly overrated IMO.

Chris Pratt as Michael Knight and Danny McBride as KITT in the KNIGHT RIDER reboot?!!

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66184

McBride's cool, but the chances of him being funny as a car... and seriously, when was the last time a TV show as a film worked out? Mission Impossible? :?

Interesting in a few ways:

1. I was watching the Knight Rider pilot last night on my ipad. It was off itunes and I was a bit miffed as they'd cut out some scenes especially in the post-climactic scene.
2. There was an attempt at a TV series reboot which had a promising pilot but had a crap season. It still required a re-tool halfway through which tells you a lot.
3. I know Glen Larson's been trying to push for a reboot that's closer to the original in terms of action/adventure/fun/feel good factor.

And Replacement Killers, which I liked.
