[LIFTED] me. Really shocked.
I've only met 4 people from Dennis/here over the years and he was one of them.
JJ let me stay at his nearly 3 years ago the night before my very first interview to start my (then new and daunting) overseas life. He'd never met me and he opened his house to me just because of a post on this forum asking for help.
He was an intelligent, conversational, hilarious, pervy, beer-drinker and we had a great laugh that night before I left the house at 5 the next morning whilst he slept. But more than that, he was a gent and a great help to me at a transitional time in my life. Thanks JJ, and thoughts to KW.

Oh no. That's terrible and completely unexpected. I've just been reading a few of his previous posts. I had no idea he was even ill, never mind that seriously. Although I didn't know him personally, his posts always came across as him being a genuinely nice, funny and well-balanced human being. R.I.P, fella. Condolences to all who knew and loved him, especially KW. Does anyone have any photos of him? It would be nice to put a face to his name, rather than just an avatar.

Good grief. That's a shock to me as well. Can't really think of much to say that hasn't been said already.

Like many others I'm really shocked to hear this. I never knew JJW009 in real life other than seeing him post here so this has really come out of the blue. It sounds like he fought to the bitter end and it's a real shame that he'll not be a presence here anymore. RIP.

I've just opened 404 before going to bed. I can't comprehend what I've just read.I only knew him through the forum but I'll bloody miss him.I enjoyed his wit & his outlook on life.
R.I.P Sir your sorely missed already.
I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking how inadequate these words seem...

Oh my freaking word! I had no idea he had been so unwell. I never knew him apart from his online persona here but even then he was always ready to help out.
My condolences to the family and to kw.

RIP JJ, you're in a better plaice now.
Known him for years online and had the pleasure of meeting him and a few others at his house once back in 2007. Probably the first person I've met online and then gone on to meet in person. With several social hangups of my own at the time I very nearly abandoned the prospect but mustered enough courage to go through with it. JJ was kind and generous then, and will be missed now.

RIP mate.
Almost 12 hours since I heard the news & I'm still in shock and can't really find the words to express how much he'll be missed.
Thoughts out to everyone who knew him & loved him

+1. I only ever knew him as a forum name and anime avatar but he'll still be missed.
