Did you play? As an aside for those who haven't spotted it there's a 5 minute Who episode on the Red Button (or there was yesterday/day before at any rate) that puts Hurt into the chronology.

Play? It just takes me to a search listing. Perhaps the browser version on this work PC is too old. Mark

Also gives the least used Doctor another crack at the whip. He always said he'd return if a regeneration was needed.

The second 'O' in the Google is a clickable 'Play' button that takes you through to a little game. Or that's how it worked on my Mac.

I think right now you could probably short cut it and say 'every BBC TV show has a Doctor Who Special on later'. Now I know there's a lot of Who fans around and they're quite excited, but this has brought a new meaning to the phrase 'over-promotion'. We've got talks going on in Geneva about Iran's nuclear future, we've got people being kept as slaves in the UK in 2013, we've got a shopping mall collapsing and crushing people in eastern Europe but the BBC News channel seems to be devoting the majority of it's airtime to items on Doctor Who. I'm all for light and shade but there's a sense of a distinct lack of perspective.

Call me strange, but I'm quite disappointed with the notion that Gallifreyans fight with something as mundane as guns.

No spoilers from me. One word description: wow! Amazing! Ok, that's two words but, still... Brilliant!

Um. I'm less.. invested than some, of course, but I found it... a bit middlin'. The last ten minutes or so just about rescued it but after about half an hour I was channel hopping a bit. There were a couple of interesting dramatic devices in there and Hurt did indeed put in a standout performance - although I have to say Billie Piper also did very well with a minor role - but there was an awful lot of stuff that didn't amount to very much at all. It felt like a mid-series episode (the bits with the zygons) with the whole time war stuff bashed into it with a hammer.
Lot of fan service of course - including one particular cameo I did rather enjoy - but as someone who doesn't actually think having two people who have played the same part at different times in the same scene is A Big Thing of itself, well, it was OK, I suppose.

Actually at various points it was anything between two and... lots . Aside point - the actress who played the asthmatic, is she one half of a comedy duo along with a woman with frizzy blonde hair? Update : Yes, she is. And if I may say so, she's got a damn hot IMDB profile photo.
