Yes but the launch price is not that much cheaper. It might still be close to £50 on launch day even from Asda.

Personally, I don't actually have an issue with paying £60 for a game like Gran Turismo, because it still represents very good value for money in the time : money ratio. If it was a game with only a 6-10hr campaign, I'd be pretty pissed, but when you can put 200-300 hours into a game, £60 is peanuts.

That is how I value games. Really good games that you can play again and again represent great value. If you have a single mission then it does not become so good, unless it takes weeks to do so.

I've no problem with perception of value, just that the game should be bloody finished before the customer forks over.

Shouldn't that be taken as read. The games should be finished at that price.

Yip, but we're now at the stage where developers are confident enough to admit the game isn't finished - geeks might know this, nobody else will until it's too late. The developers think making what is essentially an internet story out of it puts them in the clear. It's a disgrace.

Shouldn't the Sale of Goods Act cover that. It will allow gamers to play the game for a couple of weeks and get full refunds. If enough people did that to the extent that developers effectively let thousands of gamers play the game for free. I think that the loss of revenue from them will deter others from trying that trick.

I've had to return any number of games in recent years, though some I completed in SP and sent it back under the complaint of the MP not working with a link to the 'story'

Oh yeah, but it's too frequent an occurrence.

I do think that Publishers need to be named and shamed for such policies.

PSN maintenance scheduled for this Wednesday

'When will we schedule maintenance?'

'How about on a half-decent PSN+ day?'
