That would be assault, but the cyclist was in the wrong. He should be prosecuted.

It rather looked like security was shoving the bike up his ...

He's been issued summons, so presumably he'll get fined or something.

It will be something like the equivalent of a fixed penalty notice. If it goes to court he might get anything as punishment.

My former employers still have me on their mailing list.

So far this month, I've received a company magazine (I didn't read it when I worked for them), a metal keyring with the company logo on it and a Google Guide T-Shirt (also with the company logo on it).

At least you have something to wear when doing the decorating or repairing the car.

It's truly frikkin hideous - it's blue with "I'm a Google Guide" across the front (along with the company logo), and "Google" across the shoulders; with a huge "1" on the back

I always change into jeans and a tee shirt when I get home, just for slobbing around the house. Even so, I still felt embarrassed wearing it. I know people who still work for them and HAVE to wear these bloody things at the office.

Gawd only knows what our new board of directors will turn out to be like, but they'll have to delve pretty deep to be as bad as the last lot.

JPMorgan’s Legal Hurdles Expected to Multiply

Quote:
The nation’s largest bank is bracing for a lawsuit from federal prosecutors in California who suspect that the bank sold shoddy mortgage securities to investors in the run-up to the financial crisis, according to people briefed on the matter.

The case, expected as soon as Tuesday, could foreshadow other actions stemming from the bank’s crisis-era mortgage business. Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia, the people briefed on the matter said, are also investigating JPMorgan’s sale of mortgage securities.

Underscoring the breadth of the scrutiny, the people said, JPMorgan and the Department of Housing and Urban Development briefly discussed the possibility of striking a wide-ranging settlement to conclude many of the looming mortgage investigations from federal authorities and state attorneys general. But the housing agency floated a price tag of about $20 billion for the settlement, the people said, effectively derailing settlement talks with JPMorgan lawyers, who were stunned by the size of the proposed penalty and expected to pay a fraction of that sum

$20 billion as a fine is going straight into the record books.

What really surprised me was that he seemed to be able to walk away from it.

TalkTalk - or rather the sharp-suited rep that just called. Apparently, we can get free Internet in the area. We were supposed to have got a letter, but I expect that's. Conversation opener.

Anyway, he said he could give me details and asked if I had some paper an pen he could use.

Ok - so he had an ID card round his neck on a TalkTalk branded lanyard, but any outfit that sends out a sales rep with no leaflets, no pen and no paper does not deserve my further attention. So I said "no thanks" and he went.

I expect he was genuine (I found accounts of similar "free Internet" type campaigns from TalkTalk elsewhere), but no basic equipment does not instil confidence.
