The band played a gig but the lead singer was under 21, this was their answer to play the gig.

It's taken my solicitor 6 hours to courier a cheque from Croydon to Chiswick. Driving time 40 minutes

My Dad's car A Class had someone reverse into the back door recently. Anyway, Direct Line car insurance people just called for him - he's not in.
"Ok, I'll try him on his work number." (I imagine they mean his mobile.)
Few minutes later, they call back "I've tried his work number but he's not in the department today."
"Oh, I see, I'll take a message then."

He's been retired for nearly 20 years.

Hold on why didn't his old employers say that he had left or that there was no one working there with that name.

I assumed she meant his mobile.
It also follows on from yesterday - he's been trying to get someone out to inspect the car and approve the work for over 3 weeks.
Yesterday, he was on shift for Coastwatch, and that'll have been the number at the watch house they were talking about.
Slight confusion, but presumably they know from his policy that he's retired!

Internet and all network based access ground to a halt at work. I phoned IT at head office and they said it was a network wide problem, affecting the whole company throughout the UK; and BT were looking into it. An hour goes by, and nothing changes, then I notice the printer icon in my system tray. I click on it and it shows half a dozen stuck documents in the queue, but I don't have the access privileges to clear the queue.

I look at the printer nearest to me and the display shows an error. I switch it off and my computer immediately refreshes and everyone is up and running again.

Massive coincidence, or was my poxy office printer gnarling up the entire company network?

Yeah, in fact, my internet has been playing up too. Spreadie, get your act together  .

Talking of printers, I've got one. Member of staff here walked into work a few days ago to find a QR code had printed out overnight. So she grabs her mobile phone, scans the QR code with an app and gets directed to a web page that said 'Your printer has been hacked. And now, so has your phone'.

/facepalm. Anyway, we factory reset and rebuilt her phone for her (it probably hadn't been, but yer never know) and made sure the printer wasn't on an internet-routed IP address any more..

My laser printer is connected via my airport express and is only on when I actually need to print, so should be safe.

This seems rather fail-y.
