I read a guy's blog recently, where he detailed how he fixed all the bugs in that game and made it playable. He said it didn't suck so bad really. It was an awesome story, trying to squeeze extra code into a 4 byte gap here and a 6 byte gap there.

Those were the days when you could hand-decompile all 2K of the game and see how it worked.
