The whole Pitch Black/Riddick thing is just pure win.

I really enjoy Riddick - it's just Conan in space.

"Conan! What is best in life?"

"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women."

I loved the Conan stories and have the book Complete Chronicles of Conan. Loved Riddick too and wished they'd done a sequel to Chronicles. Has anyone read the books that Riddick was based on?

Is that the ginormous bound book? I've got it but got distracted and I've no idea where it is now.

It's this one: clicky

I absolutely love it. It's not in chronological order but rather order of publication. Hence the later parts of Conan's life are printed first. I absolutely love it and have read it cover-to-cover three times. After the first reading, I bought Conan the Adventurer cartoon DVD.

Karl Urban talks Dredd sequel

It needs 'a big bad', and they might not have the budget

Big Bads do not need to be big budget.
I'd personally love a DREDD sequel.

After the introduction we've had (introducing the main players I mean), they pretty much need one of Dredd's big hitters IMO. I think in terms of cost the entire Angel gang wouldn't cut it without the appropriate setting, and they'd probably be the cheapest. Death? ABC warriors? You'd need quite the intro there... I just get the feeling they'd really struggle if they did 'straight-up crime' again. Though I wonder how far the budget would have gone if they hadn't used 3D?

It's not a big problem for me personally, but Dredd's got a lot of limitations as a movie lead and relies very heavily on his supporting cast, IMO.

Okay, now I see where you're coming from.
One of the heavy hitters from the comic could make a good go of it, and I guess it all depends on casting too, because it'll only take one big name to get behind it and the money will be there to do the right film proper justice (no pun intended).

Or another character from the Dredd comics?

Christopher Nolan maybe, could be, might be, directing the next BOND

I hope that's true. If nothing else, there's a good chance Michael Caine will show up
