Well just come back from seeing it. A lovely day out and I spent it in a dark room!
Saw the trailer for Supes. Now I normally avoid trailers but some reason, I felt compelled to watch it (or maybe I just couldn't be bothered to close my eyes and stick fingers in my ears).
The film was good, much better than IM2. Agreed - some bits were humorous and some were a bit OTT. Overall though, the plot was a bit predictable.
I watched this at the Vue in Star City and had issues with:
- the sound being a bit flat - a baby crying several times (why bring him/her to the theatre?!?) - people getting up to go to the loo. Why didn't you take an aisle seat?
I stayed for the post-credits scene but agree it wasn't worth it.

You actually do this? FWIW, my comic book loving friends in the US are up in arms about the film. For them, it's the Star Wars Holiday Special of Marvel films. If you're not familiar, have a look at the wiki on The Mandarin and then try telling me it wasn't a wasted opportunity. Seriously, I can't believe Marvel signed off on the way he was handled.

Yes. I wiggle the fingers in my ears so the noise generated is more effective.
I was surprised at the take on the Mandarin but it came across a bit "Nolanish".

It works for the film, but yeah, they really did a number on the character!

I think that might down to the fact that Chinese money is involved in the production of the film. Though there is loads more footage for a Chinese only version.

4 minutes I think it was. A famous Chinese actress walks down a corridor, and some Chinese guy surrounded by kids says "Iron Man is not alone. China will help!" Ernie posted a link earlier if you want a more accurate report.

Yes I read somewhere about the Chinese and International version. I thought that there was more in the Chinese version. Maybe most of it ended on the cutting room floor. The Chinese public are not happy with the Chinese version, some have seen the international version and prefer that.
