If your taste is eclectic enough to like the first three in my list then you should check out the rest. I think you'll enjoy most of them.

I enjoyed all of them. The Quruli track was very good. Polysics reminded me of Pizzacato 5. Goodbye Mr MacKenzie reminded me of the Psychedelic Furs.

Tsk no AssociatesSome of my faves are in that lot. I've recently started listening to the Dee-Lite album again. Still very fresh even now.

Yes but I also missed out some other favourites from that era, like Belle Stars. Talk Talk, Scritti Politti, The Beat, Talking Heads, Everything but the Girl. So many good artists to pick.

My fave: A Cautionary Tale. Great song with excellent lyrics from Martin Walkyier.

A friend has just pointed out that one of my all-time favourite bands - The Pretty Things" are on their 50th anniversary tour and later this month will be playing in Derby.
I'm in two minds whether or not to get tickets and go. In their heyday (60s and 70s) they were brilliant and I loved every album they released. However since they reformed the last 2 albums have been terrible. Also I can't actually find out any info on who other than Phil May (singer) is going to be preforming. I'm worried that they'll not be very good and it will ruin all my memories of them...

It's probably worth checking out their more recent live performances on Youtube - if there are any. I saw Floyd a few years ago. It was mediocre. I wouldn't un-see it, but they were very tired sounding. If that had been my introduction to them, I would never have been a fan. Some things are better just remembered.

Last saw Floyd at Earls Court for their Divison Bell tour. Kind of an odd experience as the person who did a lot of their illustration work was doing teaching on my degree course at the time. I missed out in the Live 8 gig, but really I think they've lost their spiritual founder and one of their core members, they are probably best doing their own thing. There is a Kate Bush / David Gilmour performance of Comfortably Numb I would like to see. Apparently, Kate was not happy with here performance so it never made it to a DVD.
