4 years. She's been doing it for 2 years already, and hopes to finish for her 16th birthday.

She's a very articulate and motivated girl. Very cool.

Thankfully, it looks like Dad's got a good garage set up there. If you were to shell out on the equipment and materials she's using, you could afford something very nice.

Yes, she is lucky there. Doing a proper restoration can quickly cost much more than the car is worth. I used to be secretary to the Austin Healey Car Club in the New Forest and the cars that were restored there quickly went well into 5 figures, even with them doing all/most the work themselves.

Then by the process of rebuilding it she will have taught herself enough skills to improve her job prospects and save money owning a car. No need for expensive car repairs when she can do it herself. I must admit her parents are brave enough to realise that this is a good move for her.

What is awesome is that she's self motivated to do something that so many people, years older than her, just don't finish or even think about beginning.
Have a look in the small ads for 'lost interest in project' or 'just needs finishing' in the car section. There's loads of them. A good rebuild can take years, and she's looking like she's going to do it in just 2.
And there's the whole aspect of inspiring girls, and boys, to get back into engineering.

Yeah, how long a rebuild takes in real time, is dictated by how much time you are willing to invest in it, and how good you are with your hands.

A lot of people start off with good intentions and then they'll rather go for a drink or watch a film instead of working on the car, then it stands there.

My mum went out with a guy that used to restore and race Aston Martins for a living. His workshop was always interesting to visit. But he did it professionally, so the cars weren't there for years, just months.

And how does it work for people that already need to wear glasses?

To be honest, it looks very irritating at the moment. I think it is a good proof of concept, but I also think it has a long way to go, before it will get general acceptance.

I wonder how long it will be until we get our first real Tally Isham?

What I think will happen is that there will be prescription versions eventually. I only need glasses for close up stuff so for normal day to day events simple clear ones would be fine but then since I might not see much in the corner.

I don't get it.
Do you see many people wearing bluetooth headsets any more?
I have a suspicion we're over wandering around saying things to ourselves.
Also, GoPro and a wearable rig - it's here right now.

I think that the potential for it is very high, but as you said look at bluetooth headsets. I do still see them mainly on drivers as they talk and drive. Though you look a dickhead using one in the street. So I suspect that the same could very easily apply to these. Though there will be very specific purposes for which they could be very handy. Police officers using them to record everything on their beat, to skydivers for jumps, and other leisure activities but who knows how they will be used by the public.

In Russia, bus stops you.

How one bus driver is punishing the drivers who don't respect the traffic rules.

Note: There's no sound on the first incident only.

We've already go wearable cameras that don't interfere with things like goggles (for both Police and skydiving).
I just think this is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
The USP from Google's point of view is to pipe advertising space into your vision all the time, not as some super simple recording device. Google are, after all, an advertising company.

which are not interactive in any way.

If while riding your bike following a heads-up sat-nav map you feel the need to Google "who is the actress in this film I'm watching", then the camera isn't of primary importance - except for automagically posting onto YouTube the grim details of your untimely demise.

If you're following a sat-nav on your bike (which are already available), you're not watching a film...
