If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I'm looking forward to two things. One, see what Hamilton can do for Mercedes and two, see what happens at Mclaren with JB and Perez

BBC F1 team so far... Suzi Perry - Main Presenter Lee McKenzie - Co Presenter (possibly doing the same pit interviews as last year). Looks like a good line up so far

Suzi Perry strongly hinted on Twitter that Eddie and DC were joining her in the paddock this year - not exactly official, but pretty close to it.

It would be a great loss if there wasn't an ex F1 drive at least on the team.

I find that hard to believe. Are they blaming him for their poor performance? If he's under threat, he'll up sticks and pick his job in another team.

If it is the case, I suspect he will retire comfortably with, maybe, a second career as an after dinner speaker. Or even spend some quality time with the wife and kids, which can't have been too frequent in the last 25 years. The Mercedes racing team has grown steadily more top heavy and I can see Brawn happy to take a large fee to exit stage left frankly.

I doubt that Ross Brawn will be out of work long. He might be snapped up by some other team.

They'd be mad to get rid of Ross Brawn.
Pretty much all of Mercedes problems last year came from three causes - the car was very average to start with, they didn't develop it well over the season and, erm, Michael Schumacher having some silly mistakes. None of that is really down to Ross Brawn, he'll have very little to do with the design and engineering side.
When the car is good, everyone knows that's where Ross Brawn is worth his weight in gold - there is no better tactician in F1 than him. Full stop. There will be a long list of potential employers knocking at his door if this is true. If he wants to continue in F1, then another team will snap him up.
If he wasn't already, I bet Lewis is beginning to regret his move to Mercedes with this news.
