Never walked out of a film in the cinema, and it'd have to be pretty shocking to get me up and out of my chair. I've been bored, yes, but never enough to get up and leave. It's just not done.

I'd never walk out. There might be a good bit any minute. Plus, it's highly rude and distracting for those people who might be enjoying it. It's annoying enough when people cough, which can't be helped.
In fact, I'd generally prefer to sit through the credits too. It's not unusual to have something worthwhile during or after them; even just a good sound track. The only reason I don't often is because you get trampled by everyone else leaving.

I agree. Plus by the time you have watched the credits the toilets will start to clear as well.

No, sorry, I'll walk out if the notion takes me. There's a big difference between people dicking about and deciding that they can think of a better way to spend two hours AvP2 for instance: I've never seen so many people walk out of a film, and rightly so. Again, I'd have joined them if I'd been alone. It's worth remembering that it's a bit embarrassing walking out too!

NI audiences sound pretty rough. I'd hate to be at the theatre with them.

Why do they sound rough? Though I have to say, at the Dredd screening I was a bit surprised to see a guy wearing a Dredd t-shirt and one white dude with an afro - there's some utter muppets who live near that particular cinema who would object

In all honesty, I only go to watch films I'll probably like. Anything else I'll catch on dvd or tv.

I think that is the same for most but even then they can let the fans down. For example I went to see "The Day The Earth Stood Still". I loved the original. Anyway the film was okay till about two-thirds through and then just fell of the cliff into appalling category. Still lots of holes but enjoyable, until they get Gort into the silo. As I was was with others we stayed till the end and went off for dinner and slagged it off in the restaurant.

The problem is, sometimes I watch the trailers and the films seem ok, then you actually try and watch them... As Pcernie said, I'd rather walk out than think I'd lost 2 hours of my life, that I'd never get back! We usually then stop off for a meal or something on the way back instead.

I guess it also depends a bit on your expectations and how "involved" you are in the process, I have really loved some movies that were critically slated, but it's all the personal experience, my experience of a movie is quite often different to other people because I try really hard not to read the hype around a film, or any reviews or anything before I go in.

The only film I've ever given up on is that one with magnolia in the title and I think Penelope cruz and Tom cruise and Julianne Moore.

That would be the film that is called Magnolia. (8+) It has one of my favourite soundtracks. Mark

Penelope wasn't in Magnolia, but she was in another film with Scientology's pet midget called 'Vanilla Sky.'

Ah yes, was confusing the two. Vanilla sky looked just as bad, so didn't even bother with that one.

Yeah, for some reason I thought it might have been steel magnolias, but that's obviously something else.
