There was an implication that Fox put out the unfinished version just to drum up interest since they knew it was a stinker. Events afterwards were certainly dodgy.

They certainly made a lot of noise before the release, but was it to drum up in interest in the torrent? Then if the film failed it would be blamed on piracy. Though I suspect that many might have watched both to see how the finished version turned out. Personally I doubt that it was deliberate but I do find it difficult why there would be complete version but missing loads of effects. As any special effects people might only have access to the segment that they are working on. So would be unable to compile a complete version in the correct order though missing the effects. :?

Torrents and the film industry - I've a feeling there's a whole other story there.
I've a feeling we're being set up for a brilliant bait and switch move.

It is the wrong issue. Good films still do well. Skyfall is apparently on track for taking a billion in ticket sales.

For decades Moore has maintained his tremendous mane of hair, his wizard's beard, through bursts of aggressive combing. "That way it tends to manage itself."

Kids at the nearby shopping centre sometimes heckle, Moore says, calling him God, or Jesus, "which I'll take, because Jesus died at 33 and they've obviously mistaken me for a much younger man".

The first ten minutes of the new Star Trek film have been released, or 'leaked', online.
I'm not going to provide a link, just providing the information.
If you must go and watch all this stuff before you go and see the film then that's fine, you'll not need me to provide the help. (8+)

Read about this here (of all places).
As long as his character doesn't vanish half way through the film like Jet Li's character did in the last film it should be cool. (8+)

I just watched that short film, it's rather good: http://jimmysend.com/

I mean so many short films feel like it, but this is done rather well, the writing is sharper than most.
