FYI Gower by-laws require all fires lit on the beach to be below high tide mark.

Does that stop a breeze or does it stop farts getting out? "Oh, feel a fart coming on..." "Quick, use the wind breaker!" bish, you can get soya cream, not quite as good as the real thing (I think they use apple juice for the sweetened regular stuff) but it's still better than nothing http://www.alprosoya.co.uk/soya-product ... no_cache=1(my mum is lactose intolerant and lives on the unsweetened soya milk) and get some meringues, home made ones that are gooey in the middle are best obviously

Sounds perfect, if it's so windy you need a windbreaker then you wont be staying on the beach.

3 Cliffs lovely bay. Look for a recent line of seaweed on the sand. That will be the last high tide mark.

Yeah but, if we make the fire like 2 metres infront of us, it'll be better, don't want to much heat, we'll have enough already. *clears throat*

You might want to check the tide times. You don't want to be caught with the tide coming in. Equally, if the tide's only just gone out the beach will be wet.
I imagine the fire regulations are so the tide sweeps the remains away and keeps the beach tidy.

If you get wet, you are definitely below the high-tide mark. I don't know about your beach, but around here, the high tide reaches pretty close to the sea wall and in some places is marked by piles of driftwood and other rubbish. If you don't have a sea wall and there isn't any rubbish, then the chances are that it will be within 10-15ft of the edge of any grasses and stuff that grow on the shore, IMHO. Things like this can depend on how level the beach is. A fairly flat slope may see a massive distance between the high tide marks at different times of the month/year, but on a steeper sloping beach, the difference between the highest and lowest high tides will be far less marked.

The Severn Estuary ( including Gower ) has the second highest tidal reach in the world. Regularly exceeding 44 foot.
