I can only quote the esrtwhile Ms Coren, now Mrs Mitchell, who says this on the topic (and is, I'm reliably informed, a woman who thinks about these things a lot)

I wonder whether I should put this in the Win thread but today, for the first time ever in my life, I successfully blew a bubble with bubblegum.

Cry. For two reasons. Firstly any decent DIYer will be able to do something similar for a lot less, and secondly what Samsung make an even bigger phone? It would fall off.

+1 I've seen lots of shelves with that basic design advertised in the past. I'm sure I've even seen stair cases that use the same principle.

Well, concealed brackets make it slightly trickier but there are many things in DIY store that you could actually make yourself, with the necessary time and tools. Which of course cost much more than the thing you're looking at saying 'I could make that myself', making the argument somewhat moot.
The inset magnet is a clever idea but not much use for me as my car key is a plastic fob and therefore not magnetic.

Yes but a decent DIYer will probably have all the tools required, so that reason is debatable. If you need to buy the tools that also changes the economics of it. If you have the tools then your costs will be just the cost of the wood and possibly hooks or magnets depending on how you plan to hold the keys. Which for the amount of wood and hooks could be less than a pound. Strong magnets will be much more but still only a few pounds.

Strong magnets? Near delicate electronics (assuming you put the item to the advertised use)? Mark

I like the way tehy're showing off how you can put things on top of it 'like your phone'. So in other words, it's a handy shelf, but instead of hooks for keys, it's got a magnet. I'm literally pissing myself with excitement about this, I've ordered 5.

My phone has no home. I hadn't realised how deprived it was until now
