I take ages to make decisions so you are not alone. The trick is to sift through the information that you have been given and discard any that is not relevant to your situation. In the end only you know what you are planning ahead for so only you can decide, only you have all the information. It does not make you more like Bratty. Good luck.

*laugh* Asking us stuff is fine, you just seem to argue and post against the advice you are given. It's like, "hey, I need to know how I should do [insert thing here]" "lots of advice and ideas given" "yeah but [insert reasons not to follow advice here]" I find the process both amusing and frustrating in equal measures. Seriously, I'm not having a go at you for it. Mark

Same here. But it's my process and it's been my process for a long time. Just thinking I should try for the 20th time in my life to eliminate that process, or at the very least keep it away from this forum.

It certainly seemed to work out well for you when buying outdoor gear. Loads of time asking questions of knowledgeable shop staff and then took my advice and bought all Arcteryx stuff. Perfect result.

Went back into the local camera shop today to tell the guy what I went with and he tried to flog me a second-hand 17-40L for £400 Had to leave immediately! The sooner I finish gearing up and get on my way, the better for everybody.

Of course he is now. He wasn't then. They were not the Langridges we were looking for.
