The same one that calls you her little Grinch?
No, the Wonder Woman woman sits across from the one that calls me her little Christmas Grinch.

It's not often you get a facebook message at 00:30 asking you to phone someone which leads to a job offer by 01:00.

Was told the job was mine if I wanted it, starting in January.

Congrats!

I assume given the time difference it's somewhere far away? Not sure I'd want to work for a boss who actually phoned you up at half past midnight if he/she knew it was half past midnight.

I probably will as it's a no loose situation.
It's with the same division of the same company I work for now, using the same pay scales.
I did the training course for it almost two years ago, but the work never really arrived. Mainly because the country offices were under no obligation to release their engineers from their current work to do this new job. That means they couldn't get the work for the new job as they never had anyone available to do it. Now Houston have decided to switch it round. They're employing people specifically to do the new job, then trying to get the work. If they can't get any, I'll be released back into the engineer pool for my current job.
The best bit is I'll be moved up two grades on the pay scale for the new job, but if I end up doing my current job, I'll still be on that higher pay scale.

Well sounds like a good risk to take. It is similar to an acquaintance of mine who worked in the city. He was a currency trader and if transferred to Tokyo he would have had a tripling of his salary which he would keep when he returned to London. Seems a good option to take.
