Juan of the Dead - watchable and straight-up funny in places, but wait until it comes on E4 or whatever

It's worth catching, but it'll be on TV soon enough.

Exactly for films that are worthy of buying that is my main way of catching films. Good old terrestrial TV.

After reading the reviews I really want to see Tim Burton's Frankenweenie

Let me guess starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter?

Ok, an old one, but worth a mention - I watched it a bit back, but have just run through it again.
Basic (2003)
A film about murder and corruption on a military base. John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson.
It twists and turns like you wouldn't believe and, if you analyse it closely (after watching it again), not everything lines up perfectly; as it does try to be too clever. However, doing that kind of defeats the point.
Regardless of a few holes, this is a very entertaining way to kill an hour and a half.
7.5 out of 10

Mission Impossible 2 - it was probably alright at the time, it's pretty painful now. And it's got even even less characterisation than the first, which is saying something. What's really annoying is that other than the characterisation, everything's here on paper; good actors, a script that suits the film, action scenes that aren't generic... It's just a pity it all comes across as slightly off-kilter somehow Oh, and why does the baddie let his enemy get so close to totally destroying his operation?

Mission Impossible 3 - Now this is how the series should have started! Bar some standard Cruise cheese, this film has just about everything you'd want from an action film. I've only stuck with the series this far because it had notable directors, but it really took someone who was that little bit more hip and who knew when to wink at the audience... I'd guess Mark and Oke know who I'm talking about

To be fair, I still think the first Mission : Impossible film was the best story.

I haven't watched 4 yet so I'll let you know what I make of it in that sense, but so far I'd say you're right, especially since 3 somewhat went back to the first in terms of betrayal. There's something about trilogies where 2 gives you pretty much a new story with the same characters, and 3 harks back to the original in terms of plot and themes
