That's fair enough when you take in to account how much the film costs verses how much the film made at the box office.

Yes they have all been very profitable and so why not? To be frank if I were in his situation I would be doing the same. He is around 60 so needs a pension. Maybe this will allow him to retire gracefully.

Hugo Weaving doesn’t want to play Red Skull again

Wonder what happened there. With the Cube and various other movie plotlines, I wouldn't be surprised if he's recast though.

Hadn't heard of Big Hero 6:

Disney and Marvel seems to be an M&A operation that actually worked. The potential for commercial and professional crossover is immense.

I loved the original Robocop, though this looks like it might not be doing so well. You would have thought that they would have thrashed out the basic plot and problems before a day of shooting had taken place.

That's why I always laugh at them blaming piracy and home cinema and all the other nonsense; they remake something badly and chances are they'll still make their money back. I don't understand how a business obsessed with franchises can't see further than one film in that regard though.

Even if you ignore the sequel crap if they concentrated on the story first and even had input from special effects to eliminate what is impossible right now or would very expensive it is a lot cheaper than getting all the crew in and botching it.

If they are planning sequels thrash out a rough story arc for the sequels.

“Fox have said that they want to build a cohesive universe and I’d personally like this to work in complement to the Marvel one. It would be cool if these universes didn’t contradict each other so if you went to see Spidey, The Avengers, the X-Men, etc, as a viewer you would have no idea that all three are coming from different studios. I’d love to make it look like they’re all just happening in one place.

It makes a lot of sense and might actually improve the films because fans would not come out confused over the plot differences.
